Europaeus Project

Description of the project:
The project “Europaeus” is an on-going photographic archive commenced in 1970. The project focuses on specific aspects of Europe's recent memory.

The objective of the project:
The objective of the Europaeus project is to evolve into a permanent visual document for people to examine as a volume of work for reference and artistic posterity by way of virtual & analogue mediums, book publications and touring exhibitions.


Content of the project:
The content of the project is diverse and incorporates aspects of Europe's history, culture, traditions & values and is an overall study of European life during the times of the current observer. The project works to relate directly to peoples lives, history and current trends through portraiture, architecture, art & street photography.

For example: Images to-date cover resolving conflict & phobias within Europe's borders, racism, intolerance, terrorism, disappearing ways of life, changing trends and attitudes etc.

4, Europe's vast wealth in language, architecture, music, traditions & customs.

6, Portraits of armed European combatants since 1970.
7, Depicting through street scenes & portraits from the rich variety of Pagan face masks, the influence of Pre-Christian imagery in some traditions, costumes & festivals throughout Europe.
